This Civil War Parrot cannon is ¼ scale and made off the original drawings. This Civil War Parrot cannon is for sale and is NOT A TOY! When the plans were made, there were only 200 prints made. However the guy that created the prints asked each machinist to let him know when they completed the cannon, the only one ever completed, is this one by a retiring manufacturer. This is truly one of a kind Civil War Parrot cannon. This is a heavy grade cannon made of 12L14 steel that can withstand 70,000 PSI, and has no welds, as it was lathed from a solid piece of steel. The retiring manufacturer said it took 1440 hours to complete. If a machinist was paid $65 an hour, that means this Civil War Parrot cannon would cost $93,600 just in labor, not counting the material and paint. The photos above show the production of this Civil War Parrot cannon. The last photo shows a full size original being used in the field, this one is one fourth (¼) that size. Comes with all safety features, lineal sites 2 ½ miles and can send a 2” projectile 3,000 feet per second. Precision guide trunnions on the carriage rail to handle recoil of gun load. Carriage is 3 degrees per inch line, is all bolted, and moves 360 degrees. This Civil War Parrot Siege gun is finished with black lacquer, and has gold decals. This is a Civil War Swamp Angle Parrot Siege gun replica is being sold by a retiring manufacturer. This gun is from the manufacture’s personal collection. Images were taken when this model was completed, as this Civil War Parrot cannon has been in storage for awhile, the actual model may have some dust and minor finish bruises. Muzzle-loaders are not usually considered firearms under the GCA.
