Orphan Sparrow is the forth issue in Master Katoh’s collectors plate series entitled “Poetic Visions Of Japan”.
An image of timeless beauty, a woman strolls through the courtyard of ancient pavilion. Suddenly, a movement catches her eye; a tiny sparrow fluttering on the autumn breeze. The woman reaches out and gathers it into the hollow of her outstretched hand. Tranquil in mind and soul, at one with the world around her, she evokes the harmony of man and nature that has been the essence of the Japanese spirit for thousands of years.
This plate is 8 ½ inches wide, was limited to 150 days of firing, by Master Artist Yoshikaru Katoh in 1989, Bradex Number 42-K22-1.4, comes with an English and Japanese explanation of the scene also comes with the Certificate Of Authentication. Would make a great unique gift for her.
